There are a few different styles of brow tattooing and the technique chosen for each individual is dependent upon their skin type, lifestyle and goals. Please see below for a brief description and further information:

Hairstroke Brows, also known as feathering, is a fine art that takes many, many hours of practicing to master, and even then, the practicing does not stop! Our goal is to help you achieve perfect, low maintenance brows, while making them look natural and effortless. Under this umbrella, are two separate techniques, Microblading and Nano Machine Hairstroke Brows.

Both styles are precise, hair-like strokes that mimic the growth of eyebrow hairs, thus creating a more natural-looking result that blends seamlessly with the original eyebrows. Microblading is done using a handtool to make small 'cuts' in the skin to form strokes, whereas Nano Machine Brows is performed using a machine and a needle (often far less painful as well).

Both will typically last 1-3 years, depending on many factors such as your skin type and lifestyle (for example, it will fade much faster for those with oily skin, or those who are in the sun a lot without sunscreen). A touch-up is required at 6-8 weeks post initial procedure, and the frequency thereafter is up to you!

Nano Machine Brows is suitable for almost anyone, whereas microblading is suited for normal to dry, healthy skin. If your skin is oily, combination, mature, or compromised, our Nano Hairstroke Brow technique is the best option.

Scarlett will always perform a consultation at the start of each appointment to determine which technique is best suited for you.

Combination Brows, being Scarlett's signature brow, is a mixture of both hair strokes and machine shading.

Whilst microblading or nano machine strokes are very natural as it mimics actual hair, shading can be included, which adds depth and more colour between the strokes, and is created using a machine. Another popular style is to have hair strokes at the front of the brow, blending into full shading for the mid-arch-tail of the brow.

This procedure is recommended over full hair strokes, for those with oily, sensitive or sun damaged skin, or for those who like a bolder brow. Keep in mind, the shading can be as little or as much as you want!

If you have any questions regarding this procedure, please get in touch today and Scarlett would be more than happy to assist.

Ombre Powder Brows is a fantastic technique for those who have compromised sun damaged skin, or those who like a tinted look or 'makeup look'.

All styles will typically last 1-3 years, depending on many factors such as your skin type and lifestyle (for example, it will fade much faster for those with oily skin, or those who are in the sun a lot without sunscreen). A touch-up is required at 6-8 weeks post initial procedure, and colour boosters every year or two as maintenance, only once the colour has faded by at least 70%. Remember, fading is a good thing when it comes to a brow tattoo!

If you are not sure on which technique is best for you but definitely want to have something done, please book in for combination brows as this ensures there will be ample time for any technique - after consultation with Scarlett, a technique will be chosen during the appointment.
